AURORA | Police are searching for leads after a man told investigators he was injured during a drive-by shooting at an intersection in northwest Aurora Saturday night.

Officers were called to a nearby hospital at about 10:45 p.m. after officials there said a man came into the emergency room suffering from non-fatal gunshot wounds. He said the shooting occurred  near East Fifth Avenue and Fulton Street.

“The man later told investigators he was driving on East fifth Avenue when a dark-colored sedan pulled up next to him and fired several shots at his car,” Aurora Police spokesperson Joy Moylan said in a statement. “The suspect vehicle then sped from the scene.”

The injured man told police he was able to drive himself to a hospital for treatment.

“The circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown at this time,” Moylan said. “There is no suspect information and no arrests have been made.”

Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, police said.
