Shooting at Aurora convenience store Monday leaves two women seriously injured

AURORA | Two women stopping for snacks at an Aurora convenience store early Tuesday said someone in a car that pulled up next to them opened fire at their car, injuring both of them, police said.

Officers were called to the Conoco at 290 S. Havana St. at about 1:45 a.m. after reports of a shooting there involving two women who were gunshot victims.

“The victims went to a gas station at the corner of Havana and Alameda to get some snacks when a sedan pulled up next to them,” Aurora police spokesperson Katie Fisher said in a statement. “A possible argument ensued, and then at least one person in the sedan opened fire on the victims as they were attempting to drive away.”

Both of the women were taken to nearby hospitals, suffering “serious but non-life threatening injuries.”

“Investigators are following up on leads but we are not releasing suspect information at this time,” Fisher said.
