QUIDNUNC: Tina Peters is out and reminding everyone she’s like Trump — a stable genius

QUID HAS HEARD that you can take the craziness out of prison but not out of Tina Peters. Seems that from the moment Peters got her Get Out Of Jail Free card from Gov. Jared “Really” Polis, as well as her C-note and bus pass, on the way out of the hoosegow gate, it’s been a non-stop parade of Crazy Like A Fox News performances by Grand Junction’s most infamous felon. Your faithful affiant has had a long look at Peter’s Facebook account of “Here Tina Peters Lies“ for the record — “Real Tina Peters: The Truth Matters” — and it’s creepier and crazier than Polis’ former fans ever imagined. Peters’ new journey to old dark places starts with a picture of her taking a deep breath outside of the state gray bar hotel she’d been locked up in for two years. She’s fashionably wearing a fully zipped, heavily lined leather coat in what was reported to be 90-degree weather that day. Some like it hot, Quid understands, and some just don’t like reality. Since then, Peters has been raising money from fellow rabid election deniers and jetting off to Las Vegas and even the White House. From there, she posted an assortment of photos with top members of the Trump regime, all looking at her with a whimsical verve that says, “at least you get to leave here.” Back in Colorado, she’s returned to her old “free-speech” tricks. She heartily and heavily endorsed Rep. Scott Bottoms for governor, which surely accounted for 13 or 14 of the dozens of Republican votes he got during the June 30 GOP primary election as one of three GOP candidates. Peters, as astute as she’s ever been as the Pride of the Western Slope, jumped into the Colorado election returns to provide her expert analysis. “WE CURRENTLY HAVE TWO REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES FOR GOVERNOR IN COLORADO. THE DEMOCRATS ARE STILL DECIDING WHO THEY’D PREFER TO WIN.” Peters said that state Sen. Barbara Kirkmeyer “believes Tina is guilty and clearly has not taken the time to review the evidence herself – evidence that has been available for years.” And Victor Marx, “is not capable of understanding the evidence and relies on what random low-status officials tell him.” It was all part of her witty and cerebral reference to Scott bottoming out in the election. Her Facebook rants unravel further as she goes along. On July 4, with nothing else to do, Peters posts: “So, you’re telling us that from Thursday at 3:27 pm…until this morning at 8:58am, only 4,850 Republican gubernatorial primary ballots have been counted, throughout the state?! With 64 counties counting ballots, that’s an average of only 75 ballots counted by each county, since mid Thursday afternoon.” Quid would be happy to message Peters to let her know that, the election was Tuesday, June 30, hon, and while she was away in prison, the state, county, city and federal governments continue to observe the federal holiday of July 4, and this time celebrating 250 years of the same rules of law that sent her to the clink, and that the days following Friday are still Saturday and Sunday, which government types don’t work in Colorado. So much has changed since Peters went to the Crowbar Motel. So much is the same since Polis broke her out.

And that’s all the news that fits.
