Aurora man dies Monday after collision with car while driving minibike last week

AURORA | An Aurora Man died Monday from injuries he sustained when the minibike he was driving collided with a car in east Aurora last week, police said.

Aurora police responded to a crash involving a Subaru SUV and a minibike at 6:45 p.m. June 29 at East Colfax Avenue and Powhaton Road. An investigation determined the driver of the minibike, which was on westbound Colfax, veered into the eastbound lane and hit the Subaru head-on.

The minibike rider, a 23-year-old man from Aurora, was not wearing a helmet and was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The man died from his injuries on Monday.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the man’s identity.

Aurora police said the driver of the Subaru remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
