Person trapped in Aurora house fire dies Sunday night, fire officials say
AURORA | One person was died after being trapped in a house fire Sunday night in southeast Aurora, Aurora Fire Rescue officials said.
Firefighters were called to a fire at a house in the 18600 block of East Bates Circle just before 10 p.m. by a resident who said someone inside was trapped.
“During the fire suppression operation one adult victim was located and determined to be deceased,” Aurora Fire Rescue spokesperson Eric Hurst said in a statement. “Firefighters also located and rescued a dog that was transported to an animal hospital.”
No one else was found inside the home and no firefighters were injured.
Officials said one person from the home was displaced because of the blaze.
