Sheriff asking public to help find missing Arapahoe County senior with medical needs

AURORA | Arapahoe County Sheriff officials are asking for the public’s help in finding a 63-year-old man who has been missing for five days and may be in danger because he has been without required medications.

Kevin Bailey was last seen at about 2 p.m. June 12 at the front desk of Woodland Estates Senior Living Center, just east of Aurora, where he lives, according to sheriff’s investigators.

Bailey told an employee he planned to ride a bus and visit friends. Family members also reported that he said he was riding a bus and looking for work before his disappearance.

Investigators said they have developed information indicating Bailey was in the metro area on the evening of June 12, but his whereabouts since then remain unknown.

Authorities said Bailey’s cellphone is no longer active and that he does not have access to money or a debit card.

Investigators expressed concern for Bailey’s safety because he requires daily prescription medications and has not had access to them since June 11. Missing those medications could pose a serious risk to his health and have life-threatening consequences, authorities said.

Sheriff’s officials clarified that, contrary to earlier reports, Bailey has not been diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease.

Authorities described Bailey as a Black man who is 6 feet tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes and is a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He was last seen wearing either a black or dark blue sleeveless T-shirt, black pants or dark blue jeans, and black mule-style sandals.

Investigators said Bailey has no physical limitations, is fully verbal and is known to be friendly. There were no restrictions preventing him from leaving the senior living facility.

Anyone who sees Bailey or has information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center at 303-795-4711 or call 911.
