Aurora Highlands launches art-centric Market in the Park festival series Saturday
AURORA | The Aurora Highlands launches its monthly Market in the Park festival series this Saturday at Winged Melody Park, melding art, food, music, shopping and more into a fund day for the entire family, organizers say.
A fusion of art, shopping food and community boasts fun at the market and a chance to ogle the growing gallery of public, outdoor art installations across the parks, including Daniel Popper’s world-famous “Umi,” “Broken but Together,” by Michael Benisty and “The Only Way Out is Through” by Snyder and Olivia Steele.
The outdoor event is slated for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature artisan vendors, a farmers market, food trucks, drinks, live music and free carousel rides.
The market series is scheduled for the second Saturday of each month from June through September.
Saturday’s opening market will include live music by duo Tim & Jenny Ostdiek, organizers said.
More than 30 vendors are expected to participate, offering handmade crafts, baked goods, produce, beverages and specialty foods. Vendors listed by organizers include Jacob’s Mushrooms, Indigo and Rye Bakery, Tamales y Empanadas el Rey, The Golden Espresso and Bella Yoga Inc. and many more.
Winged Melody Park is at The Aurora Highlands Parkway and Main Street, 23578 E. 38th Place.
Organizers said the event is designed to bring the community together and support local small businesses.
