Motorcycle crash claims life of rider in Aurora early Thursday

AURORA | An unidentified motorcycle rider died early Thursday after apparently losing control of his bike and crashing into a curb at an intersection in southeast Aurora, police said.

Officers were called to respond to the crash at about 2:45 a.m. at South Gun Club Road and East Louisiana Parkway.

“The investigation determined the adult male rider was traveling south on Gun Club when he lost control, slid across the roadway and struck a curb near the intersection,” Aurora police spokesperson Joe Moylan said in a statement. “The rider, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene.”

The man’s identity will be released later by coroner officials.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, police said.
